December 2022 – UPDATE
In early December our civil engineers did percolation testing in a field adjacent to the building site. These tests show how well the soil in a particular part of the property drains. Now our engineers can design the new septic system based on the results from these tests.
SEPTEMBER 2022 – UPDATE
A construction engineering company tested the soil to provide descriptions of conditions beneath the ground. This testing will help give recommendations for the foundation, retaining walls, backfill against the building and pavement, among other things.
AUGUST 2022 – UPDATE
We have been able to clear the trees on the building site, and thanks to your generosity we have enough funds to dig and pour the foundation. However, in order to protect your investment from weather deterioration, causing extra expense, we need to raise enough funds to erect and fully enclose the building shell.
Please help!
JUNE 2022 – UPDATE
We thank you for your generosity. The architectural plans have been finalized and submitted to the town’s building department.
We are currently in the process of doing the following:
- Acquiring bids from construction managers
- Planning the site details for the building
- Researching siding and stone options
- Designing the layout for kitchen equipment
- Proposing layouts for the various rooms throughout the building
Why Do We Need to Build?
Our Congregation is Growing
- God continues to bless us with more vocations each year.
- 25% of our Sisters have entered within the last six years.
- If we don’t build, we may not be able to accept more Postulants.
Formation begins at the Motherhouse
- The first seven years of a Sister’s life are usually spent at the Motherhouse.
- Each Sister learns the method of prayer, spending 4-5 hours each day interceding for those in need.
- A Sister receives training for her future work in education and human services.
- Older Sisters have returned to the Motherhouse to instruct the young Sisters.
Providing for Our Older Sisters
- Some Sisters now require more care because of their advanced years.
- We are planning a floor specially built for their needs.
Our Main Work of Consoling God
- If we are able to continue accepting new members, we will have more Sisters to carry on our most important work of making reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through our daily Holy Hour.
- This is especially needed today when His Divine Heart is so saddened and hurt by the sins of men.
Education and Visiting the Sick
- With more members we will be able to carry on and increase our other works.
- Future Sisters will continue to teach today’s youth to become good Catholics and truly patriotic citizens.
- We will have more Sisters to assist and encourage the sick and dying.
Your Donation Will Enable Us To:
- Accept young ladies into our convent who want to follow God’s call.
- Train young Sisters for their work in education and human services.
- Continue to spread hope in the world.
